This journey begins where the familiar Nha Trang ends.
We head into the Hon Ba mountains — one of the most unusual mountain areas near Nha Trang. As we climb, the hot coastal climate slowly turns cool, palms and plains stay below, and the road begins to wind through dense tropical forest.
Our first stop is the cottage of Alexandre Yersin — a doctor, scientist and explorer who lived and worked in Vietnam for many years. High in the mountains he found the cool air and the place for his research. Today this small historical site lets you see Hon Ba not only as a beautiful mountain, but as part of Vietnam's history.
After the history of the mountain we ride even higher — to the new Trúc Lâm Hòn Bà pagoda. It sits among the mountain forest, where silence, cool air and clouds create a completely special atmosphere.
But the main part of this journey is the road itself. Switchbacks, mountain views, jungle, mist and constantly changing altitude turn the ride to Hon Ba into a real motorcycle adventure. You don't want to simply arrive — you want to keep riding and see what is behind the next turn.

🏡 Yersin's cottage
A place connected with Alexandre Yersin — the famous doctor, scientist and explorer who devoted a large part of his life to Vietnam. High in the mountains he found the coolness and solitude he needed for his work. Here you can not just look at a historical site, but imagine what this mountain region was like more than a hundred years ago.
🛕 Trúc Lâm Hòn Bà pagoda
A new pagoda high in the mountains among green forest. After the heat of Nha Trang you feel a completely different Vietnam here — cool air, silence, mountains and clouds all around. The place is especially beautiful when mist starts rising up the slopes and partly hides the forest.
🏍️ The road to Hon Ba
The main attraction of this journey is the road itself. The mountain switchbacks constantly change direction and altitude, and every turn opens a new view.
